If you live in an apartment in West Columbia, SC you can enjoy Cinco de Mayo two different ways in downtown Columbia.
You may not know the history, but organizers say that doesn't matter. They invite you to come participate in a celebration "145 years in the making."
At this year's sixth Annual Cinco de Mayo celebration, held May 5th from 3pm - 10pm at Finlay Park in downtown Columbia, visitors can sample foods, listen to music and experience culture from across the Americas in what organizers say will be a family-friendly atmosphere.
Entertainment will include musicians, dancers and artists from Mexico, Panama, Bolivia, Peru and mariachis. Admission to the event is free.
Or you can head over to the Cinco de Mayo Family Fiesta on May 4 and 5 on 301 Gervais Street, Columbia, SC 29201 at the South Carolina State Museum.
It's fiesta time! Join the State Museum the first weekend in May for their first Cinco de Mayo celebration! The fascinating blockbuster exhibit Secrets of the Maya has opened the world of Latin America to museum-goers, so what better way to commemorate an important Mexican holiday than with two days of fun, festive family activities with a Latin flair?!
