The Columbia Blues Festival has been rocking for 19 years. The Fesival was started in 1991 by 3 friends who were sitting around in a Five Points Bar in Columbia, SC. They were lamenting the fact that so many blues and folk artists were bypassing their town. So they decided to put together some shows themselves.
On Saturday, November 9, 2013, Columbia's 19th annual Blues Festival comes to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park with the same spunky, grassroots production as in years past.
This is what makes the festival so much fun! It's a free show. In addition to the great LIVE music, there will also be food and drink along with a chili cook-off and a beer garden. Bring your friends from you apartment in West Columbia, SC, some folding chairs or a blanket and kick back and enjoy the music.
All proceeds go to Hope Center and Camp Hemo.
