As South Carolina’s state capital, Columbia is an exciting city with a lot to offer. Located in downtown Columbia, the University of South Carolina (USC), is among the top universities in the nation! The region is also home to passionate sports fans, especially during football season. The Gamecocks football team plays home games in Williams-Brice Stadium, which seats over 80,000 people.

The Columbia, SC area is increasingly known for its emerging food scene and offers a variety of nightlife options to suit any taste. The city also boasts a number of interesting attractions, beautiful parks and more. In addition to touring the South Carolina State House, we love the Riverbanks Zoo and Botanical Garden. One of the region’s top attractions, the zoo includes approximately 2,000 animals. If you’re looking to explore the world around you, the South Carolina State Museum is the place to be! The largest museum in South Carolina, it includes four floors of exhibits, a digital dome planetarium, 4D interactive theater and an observatory.

If you’d prefer to relax, Lake Murray is the spot. Less than 30 minutes from downtown Columbia, the lake boasts 600 miles of shoreline and is often referred to as the “Jewel of South Carolina.” There is always something to do in Columbia! In fact, both Columbia Restaurant Week and the South Carolina State Fair are very popular happenings.
